based on experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for leadership, strategic oversight,
development, and management of the Business Development and
Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives of the organization.
This position ensures that the Credit Union is effective in growing
and expanding the credit union via SEG/School/Community
relationships, while managing and growing the credit union's field
of membership, and leveraging partnerships, which includes new and
existing Select Employee Groups (SEGs) and community affiliations.
This position ensures that the credit union is developing and
extending the charitable and giving arm of our organization within
the communities we serve (Premier Gives) while also directing and
furthering the sustainability efforts of the organization (Premier
Sustainability), and directing and furthering the school-based
relationships and youth efforts of the organization (Premier
Youth). Additionally, this position serves as primary strategic
partner and nurturer for the most important corporate and business
relationships at the enterprise level; manages strategic alliances;
assesses the credit union's market for growth and expansion
opportunities; provides strategic leadership for business
development related support and direction in the form of executable
community plans to Branch Managers and other credit union staff as
appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops and manages the overall direction of Business
Development strategies, goals, activities, including school-based
partnerships, and leadership of high school student branch model
and strategy in the youth pillar
- Develops and manages the overall direction of Corporate Social
Responsibility in the charitable giving pillar
- Develops and manages the overall direction of Corporate Social
Responsibility in the sustainability pillar
- Takes an active role in the strategic growth of the credit
union by managing and expansion of the credit union's Field of
Membership, Premier Youth, Premier Gives, and Premier
Sustainability pillars
- Manages corporate and SEG relations, school relations, and
community affiliation relations
- Manages and directs Branch Managers with the assistance of
their direct supervisor by providing ongoing business development
support and direction in developing individual community plans for
the branches. This includes initiating and providing strategic
leadership with community organizations, including area chambers of
commerce, and government and civic organizations
- Develops, manages, and works within a yearly budget and
business plan for Business Development, Corporate Social
Responsibility, and Sustainability
- Responsible for managing the servicing of Select Employee
Groups and community affiliations through effective communication
and coordination with Credit Union personnel and management
- Directs the servicing of SEG and community affiliations e.g.
promotional and educational programs, SEG signage, channel
messaging, marketing efforts, flyers, internal communications, on
site visits, membership drives etc.
- Manages daily SEG and community affiliations inquiries,
complaints or action items involving SEG relations
- Directs, leads, and constructs the Corporate Social
Responsibility strategies in community outreach, charitable giving,
and public relations for the Credit Union
- Directs, leads, and constructs Sustainability plan, goals, and
activities for the Credit Union
- Directs, leads, and constructs Business Develop plan, goals,
and activities for the Credit Union
- Assists, serves, negotiates, and informs departments and
branches as needed; especially the outcome of negotiations and
proposals, conveying expectations set forth for each group, i.e.
clear details and critical timeframes
- Completes required reports, records, and other documents
- Leads, attends, and participates in meetings and committees as
needed
- Point of contact for internal employees initiating work within
the department or checking status of jobs already in progress
- Participate in ongoing operations associated with the strategic
growth of the credit union, and specifically leadership and vision
of the Community Relations department
- Represents the Credit Union to business and trade
professionals, including facilitation and public speaking
- Ensures that internal and external requests, questions, and
problems related to community relations are courteously and
professionally resolved on a timely basis, and that communications
and workflow are efficient, clear, and effective
- Keeps managers and employees informed of Community Relations
and Business Development programs, goals, and policies
- Processes NCUA documents and forms related to SEG affiliation
requests, charter amendments, charter changes, name changes,
etc.
- Updates all SEG records and files of credit union
affiliation
- Ensures daily quality control of internal and external
documents
- Coordinates, communicates, leads, and strategizes facilities
request for credit union events (community events, SEG visits,
seminars, etc.)
- Approves and tracks all invoices and expenses against yearly
department budget
- Provide strategic oversight, and training of trade show and
promotional events, and staffs trade show and promotional events as
needed
- Provides updates to yearly business plan
- Provides purchasing direction, strategy, and financial approval
for the purchases of supplies and materials ultimately received by
SEG's and the community
- Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation both
internally and externally
- Responsible for the Business Development Department's sales
goals
- Manages monthly community contacts and performance
- Leads and participates in sales planning meetings to review
activities
- Identifies new member opportunities
- Recruits new companies, associations, and community groups to
affiliate with credit union
- Works to develop more efficient methods for tracking SEG
growth, automated system use and campaign effectiveness
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well
maintained
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Performs any other duties related to work described
hereinQUALIFICATIONSEducation/Certification:
- B.A. or B.S. in Business or related field; or seven years
related sales or management experience and/or training, preferably
in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Credit Union products, policies and
procedures
- Financial Literacy and general knowledge of banking and
financial servicesExperience Required:
- Minimum of five years experience sales training
- Minimum of five years experience managing sales staff
- Preferred - Seven to ten years related experience and/or
training, preferably in a financial institution; or equivalent
combination of experience
- Sales Training; Negotiation Skills Skills/Abilities:
- General - Well organized; Ability to meet deadlines; Strong
project management skills; Willingness to travel; Excellent
interpersonal skills.
- Language - Ability to read, analyze and interpret the complex
documents; Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or
complaints; Ability to write speeches and articles using original
or innovative techniques or style; Ability to make effective and
persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to Senior
management and public groups.
- Math - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as
probability and statistical inference; Ability to apply concepts
such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to
practical situations.
- Reasoning - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish
facts, and draw valid conclusions; Ability to interpret an
extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete
variables.WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standard office conditions
- Active work; sitting, standing, etc. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of
force on a weekly basis.
