activities. Job Specific Working Conditions: Additional Job Details
: Young Life College National and the Northwest Division are
seeking a Spirit-led, mission-centered high-capacity leader to join
a vibrant team who are laser focused on introducing college
students to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. This
person would be committed to expanding and improving Young Life
College in the Northwest Division. This person would need to live
somewhere in the Northwest Division geography and would need to
raise 70% of their budget in personal support. The anticipated
compensation for this role will be $73,000–$100,990, depending on
location, background, and experience. YL College Divisional
Coordinator Summary: Through spiritual leadership and good
management, and in communication and support of the regional
director, implement the necessary actions to carry out Young Life’s
mission of introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them
grow in their faith – specifically building an infrastructure for
the Young Life College ministry. Essential Duties: Spiritual
Development — “Following Jesus” includes prayer and spiritual
disciplines, fellowship, growth, health, and church relationships.
Commit to understanding God’s Word and practicing spiritual
disciplines, including retreat and reflection times. Actively
participate in a church community and the spiritual life of the
Young Life community. Lead the area and individuals in spiritual
development and prayer. Ensure that all Young Life ministry in the
area is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that
takes place out of the overflow of a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. Leadership Development — “Equipping leaders,
committees, and staff” includes key volunteer care, recruiting,
team building and training, supervision, and vision casting. Work
with the field senior vice president and regional directors to cast
a vision for Young Life College (YLC) ministry in the division,
which includes helping to create a ministry/fundraising plan for
current YLC target schools and identifying new target schools.
Coach key YLC staff within the division to promote strong,
sustainable ministries. Encourage integration of YLC with other
Young Life ministries and events at local, regional, divisional,
and mission-wide levels. Resource Development — “Fueling the
ministry” includes events, major donor care, public relations
(branding), and the TDS team. Work with the YLC Advisory Team and
vice president of YLC to provide long-range planning and
development for the mission, financial solvency, vision for the
ministry, and financial resources through marketing and resource
development. Serve as a member of the Young Life College Advisory
Team. Be an active participant in the church community, campus
community, and community at large. Be aware of the social services
that various local agencies provide for college students. Direct
Ministry — “Proclaiming and discipling” includes contact work,
club, Campaigners-i.e. small group ministry, camp. Continue to meet
with students and adult leaders in serving as YLC director on
designated campus. Work on special projects as determined by the
advisory team and the vice president of YLC. Serve as a key
spokesperson for YLC to Young Life leadership at all levels,
churches, and public organizations. As assigned, represent the
mission-wide office in speaking engagements and training
conferences. Ministry Support — “Taking care of business” includes
accounting, administration, communication (internal), data
management and strategic plan. Develop a focused communication
program. Provide administrative expertise for the mission,
accepting responsibilities as needed as a member of the management
team. Ensure that all Young Life policies and procedures are
followed. Carry out other duties as assigned/directed by the vice
president of YLC and the senior vice president of the division.
Work under authority within the Young Life guidelines and policy.
Education: College degree preferred. Qualifications Required for
the Job: Proven relational skills with both students and adults.
Demonstrated public communication skills in speaking, teaching and
representing the ministry. Experience, passion, and leadership in
ministering to college students. Ability to maintain
confidentiality. Experience as a team leader—a good listener and
mediator of differences. Proven organizational
leadership/management skills for developing ministry strategy.
Proven experience in the development and management of a budget.
Ability to work within a team setting, as well as having served as
a team builder. Desirable Qualifications: Proven fundraising and
marketing experience; preferably with capital campaigns. Experience
in staff leadership, staff training, and communication. Written
communication skills with the ability to produce public relations
materials. Able to work with diverse ethnic/racial groups with
sensitivity. Demonstrated verbal and written communication
skills.
