Summary of Job: Support the COO, VPs and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of Vail Resorts Retail (VRR) in engaging and collaborating with the Executive Committee (EC) and other senior leaders to develop, define, and build on ideas and corporate priorities, with particular focus on ensuring high quality and effective time management by the SLT. Provides Senior Executive-level planning and project support to the VRR SLT with a demonstrated ability to accomplish goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. This role is responsible for supporting the SLT in project management, strategic planning, public relations, planning and in accordance with VRR goals, projects, and initiatives. Essential Job Responsibilities: Drive : Organize, create, and manage tools to support VRR's ongoing strategy development and execution within Vail Resorts that are related to overarching strategic objectives

  • Manage and prioritize the agenda of the SLT and senior leadership meetings to ensure the highest priority items are addressed
  • Provide thorough and detail-oriented planning and support to Executive-level meetings and special events including agenda and prep, materials and presentations, and note-taking, when requested.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate corporate meetings and special events with support from VRR Executive Assistant.
  • Develop and execute yearly planning cycles for capital, goal setting, strategic prioritization and initiative support. Provide program support and follow-up that also include presentation building as needed. Strong communication skills, including the ability to successfully handle stressful situations professionally and effectively, and the ability to combine a sense of urgency with patience and diplomacy.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to apply lessons learned from one situation to another.
  • Provide project/program facilitation and oversight, as appropriate; assure project objectives are met; facilitate agreement on objectives and success measures, provide overall project/program issue resolution and roadblock removal. Engage with appropriate stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress towards meeting objectives. Ensure timely and consistent communication to facilitate a clear understanding of ongoing projects and their prioritization within the organization Connect: Inspire trust and build strong, positive, productive relationships with key stakeholders. Effectively engage and collaborate with the SLT and key stakeholders across the organization to develop, define and build on innovative ideas and business priorities.
    • Analyze and understand the Company's business strategy and help align resources
    • Engage broadly and deeply across the organization to quickly connect information and people to drive company-wide projects, programs and initiatives
    • Provide issue resolution and roadblock removal to ensure forward progress on behalf of COO.
    • Oversee and develop division-wide communications strategy, including drafting and creating communications, leveraging internal communications team to manage external PR as needed, oversee internal review and approval processes Instill a very high level of trust from the SLT and the EC in confidentiality and discretion
    • Use expertise and relationships to influence key stakeholders
      • Manage and oversee VRR Executive Assistant to facilitate SLT's scheduling, leadership time management, and administrative support.
        • Establish relationships and strong rapport with EC, COO and VP's business associates, their assistants, and their direct reports creating a level of trust and confidence to accomplish requests and achieve goals
        • Act with the utmost professionalism and discretion, in all avenues of communication, when handling sensitive or confidential information Develop: Create an environment of continual improvement both inside and outside of direct team
          • Deliver high-impact solutions to the SLT by identifying key issues, defining appropriate work structure, and driving workable recommendations that create value
          • Facilitate and track meeting goals, agendas, and resulting action items and deliverables, as well as, review cycles and timelines Re-imagine: Anticipate the needs of the COO and VPs, to identify potential risks and take action to mitigate. Prioritize and adapt in a constantly changing business setting
            • Bring new ideas, methods, and approaches to VRR and this role. Leverage own expertise to challenge the status quo and drive decisions and actions necessary to improve our business processes.                 • High School Diploma or equivalent
                • Minimum of 7+ years progressive professional administrative experience, including reporting to a senior corporate executive or business owner and relevant work experience, with ability to successfully lead and oversee critical project and multi-faceted efforts.
                • Technology advocate and advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite applications .
                • Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required
                • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
                • Sound judgment with regard to confidential information.
                • Experience analyzing information and data to make decisions.
                • Experienced self-starter and self-motivated efforts without the need for daily direction.
                • Experience supporting and working with C-level executives in a business environment.
