This role is the voice of the consumer to the business. As a core
member of the business unit leadership team, the Director will act
as a strategic thought leader and partner in driving business
growth for our two flagship brands (SILK AND SO DELICIOUS) and
* CHAMPION AN INSIGHTS CULTURE: Champion consumer-centricity in
business decision-making and build consumer gut across all
cross-functional business partners. Develop competitively
advantaged insights to guide brand and innovation strategy in a
manner that results in the achievement of business goals.
Continuously translate consumer insights, trends, and market
dynamics into growth opportunities for the business unit and the
* BUILD THE LEARNING AGENDA: Actively leverage all existing data
custom research, analytics, syndicated and secondary to develop a
holistic market and consumer understanding that is actionable and
impactful. Establish the insight and foresight agenda necessary to
close knowledge gaps, support category and brand growth
initiatives, and answer critical marketing questions. Champion
insight-driven innovation through all phases of the innovation
cycle, from early stage opportunity identification, through
commercialization and launch, to post-launch tracking and
* DRIVE RESULTS AND INFLUENCE DECISIONS: Proactively identify core
business questions and identify research techniques and methods
that best answer those questions and result in actionable
recommendations. Articulate rationale for and defend research
methods in business partner discussions. Ensure key insights and
implications (positive and negative) are heard by key stakeholders.
Influence General Management, Brand Marketing, and Cross-Functional
Leaders by actively and persuasively representing the consumer and
* ELEVATE THE FUNCTION: Lead research strategy, design, and
analysis in a manner that exemplifies a best-in-class insights
function. Tell stories with data. Explore and implement innovative,
agile insights tools and techniques that leverage new ways of
connecting with consumers and new approaches to leveraging big
* COACH AND INSPIRE: Create valuable and actionable learning
opportunities for the marketing organization related to market and
competitive intelligence, trends, consumer cohorts, etc. Lead,
coach, and develop the Strategy & Insights team, with a focus on
driving business results and influencing BU leadership.
* BUILD PARTNERSHIPS: Collaborate with cross-functional partners
across Brand, Sales, Finance, Category Management, and Product
Development to deliver on business objectives and drive business
growth. Work in partnership with the global Strategy & Insights
team to influence the global insights agenda and actively drive
global initiatives in the US.
* B.S./B.A. (required) Marketing, Business or related field
influence brand and category management
* M.S./MBA (preferred) in Marketing, Business or related field
* 10+ years of experience in market research, consumer insights or
related area in CPG
* You are currently leading at a Director level with experience
championing and leading company initiatives
* Strong ability to influence senior leadership
* You successfully manage multiple business partners and drive
consensus across priorities
* Demonstrated experience in leading a team of highly skilled
* You are Comfortable with and effectively manage ambiguity
