Primary Purpose of Position:

Accountable for the administration of benefits programs, including health and group plans, wellness and recognition programs, and the 401(k)-retirement plan. Administers the annual merit planning cycle and payout of bonus plans. Works with the corporate and plant HR teams to continuously improve employee relations and engagement, internal processes and compliance efforts relating to total rewards programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert and day-to-day contact for all benefit plans. Resolves escalated benefits administration issues with HR managers, employees, and vendors.
  • In partnership with plant HR, supports leave administration, including employer-sponsored leaves and absences, FMLA, and disability programs.
  • Administers the open enrollment cycle, including assisting in the development and implementation of project plans, programming specifications, user acceptance testing, communications, fulfillment and HR support through open enrollment period.
  • Oversees the workflow and data interfaces from outsourced service providers and ancillary systems
  • Assists in compliance with ERISA, PPACA, IRS, COBRA, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Health Savings Accounts. Manages and/or participates in benefits-related audits and other compliance projects related to SPD's, 5500's and SAR's.
  • Responsible for completing the administrative procedures of benefit plans in a consistent manner within the scope of the Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), laws/regulations, and vendor and union contracts, as directed.
  • Supports union negotiation processes and outcomes/changes, supports system changes, etc.
  • In partnership with payroll, administers the annual merit planning cycle as well as the payout of bonus programs. Supports the development of communication materials. Responsible for developing the project plan and participates in system development/testing.
  • Completes job evaluations by reviewing job descriptions and ensuring appropriate grade relative to internal and external comparisons utilizing market pricing and a job grading evaluation methodology.
  • Conducts the survey process and ensures timely completion of the survey participation process.
  • Continuously identifies areas for process improvement and updates procedure documents and process flows.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the ADP Workforce Now HR systems including accuracy and currency of all data maintained in the system.

At Ball Metalpack, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits: Compensation: The annual base salary range for this role is from $80,000 to $100,000, plus annual target bonus of 10% of base salary. An annual bonus is awarded to eligible employees upon attaining various business and individual goals as defined by Ball Metalpack and the department leader. This annual bonus is discretionary, and Ball Metalpack has sole discretion to determine the amount of the award.
