Job Description: Viega LLC, a global plumbing manufacturing
company, is seeking an accomplished and strategic VP, General
Counsel to serve as part of the executive leadership team and
oversee the legal function of Viega LLC. This key role will provide
senior-level legal leadership, manage the legal team, and
contribute to the company's growth and success. The ideal candidate
should have extensive experience in corporate and employment law,
outstanding leadership skills, and a proven ability to provide
strategic legal counsel. Responsibilities:
- Legal Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement the legal department's strategic
direction in alignment with the company's business objectives.
- Provide high-level legal advice and guidance to executive
leadership and the board of directors on complex legal
matters.
- Corporate Governance:
- Oversee corporate governance matters, including board meetings,
regulatory filings, and compliance with legal and regulatory
requirements.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies and guidelines across
the organization.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify legal risks and opportunities for the organization and
develop strategies to manage and mitigate them effectively.
- Implement robust risk management processes and compliance
programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and
regulations.
- Transactional Expertise:
- Review, negotiate, and finalize complex contracts, agreements,
and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, partnerships,
and joint ventures.
- Provide strategic legal counsel to protect the company's
interests in contractual relationships.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage and oversee litigation and dispute resolution processes,
including working closely with external legal counsel when
necessary.
- Develop litigation strategies that align with the company's
objectives and minimize legal risks.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel in employment-related
litigation, including drafting legal documents, managing discovery,
and providing legal strategy.
- Intellectual Property and Licensing:
- Manage the protection and enforcement of the company's
intellectual property assets, including trademarks, patents, and
copyrights.
- Provide guidance on IP licensing, infringement, and enforcement
matters.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about evolving legal and regulatory developments
that impact the company's operations and industry.
- Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence
to relevant laws and regulations.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals,
fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to
the legal team.
- Stakeholder Relationships:
- Build and maintain relationships with external legal partners,
regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other
stakeholders.
- Represent the company in legal matters with professionalism and
integrity.
- Employment Law
- Assist in addressing complex employee relations issues and
advise on appropriate resolutions.
- Stay updated on developments in employment law and related
regulations to provide timely and accurate legal advice.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and
active bar membership.
- 10 -years of progressive experience in legal roles, with
significant experience in corporate law, preferably in both law
firm and in-house settings.
- 5 years of experience in employment law, either in a law firm
or in-house legal department.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
and regulations.
- Proven track record of leadership and successful management of
legal teams.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, intellectual
property, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal
skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to provide legal guidance
that aligns with business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters and
deliver results under pressure.
- Ethical and professional integrity, with the ability to
maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is
advantageous. For CO residents, the salary range for this position
is $200,000 to $250,000/year. Actual compensation is influenced by
an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level
