PURPOSE OF POSITION: A Social Case Worker I at Catholic Charities:
Identifies clients who are eligible for benefits. Assists clients
in the benefits application process. Monitors and assesses client
progress towards identified goals. Refers and facilitates
connection of participants to needed professional and human service
agencies and initiates follow-up services as needed. Coordinates
case conferences with agencies or persons involved with the
participant’s self-sufficiency efforts as necessary. Authorizes
services of the organization based upon assessment of need and
availability of resources. Maintains accurate case records;
documents client contacts and progress in order to ensure
accountability. Inputs required data information for statistical
and monthly reports. Provides feedback on systemic barriers
impeding the success of the household or program. Participates as a
positive team member through communication, cooperation,
information sharing and problem solving. Demonstrates skills and
sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff,
clients and community. Participates in staff training as required.
Plans and provides training for community agencies and groups as
needed. Completes or provides input to reports documenting program
activities. Reflects Catholic Charities’ commitment to treating all
persons with dignity and respect Uses creativity and innovation in
program development and service delivery. Maintains confidentiality
of client and agency information. Regular and predictable
attendance. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Needs to demonstrate strong
communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge
of the theories and practices of counseling and social work, skills
in the use of interviewing and assessment techniques, skills in
preparing professional reports and documents, skills in
establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with
other employees, organizations and the public are required.
Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic
characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for
the client population. Ability to interact effectively as a team
member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse
client base. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum qualification of
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or
university in related field; and three to five years related
shelter operations experience and/or training. Human services,
social work degree preferred. Master’s Degree preferred. HMIS
training and experience preferred. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Salary:
$23.00 per hour. Full Time. Training: We provide a robust training
curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career.

Leave Program: Employees who have completed seven years of
continuous full-time service are eligible for a paid sabbatical
leave to support rest, renewal, and professional or personal
growth. Eligible staff may take 4 weeks of sabbatical leave. 403b
Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% & match up to 2% of
annual compensation. Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of
employee's and 75% of dependent’s premiums is paid by Agency),
Dental, & Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start
date. May be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through
Federal Student Loans and many more benefits. Part-time employees
(20-29 hours per week) also receive paid annual leave, company paid
holidays, and 403b retirement plan with agency contribution and
