You will provide business-focused practical support and guidance to employees across the organization on a range of HR-related issues in line with Inside TravelGroup (ITG) policy and local law, signposting to internal documents/resources and escalating to the HR manager where required.As a key member of the People and Organizational Development team, you will be actively involved in strategic projects aimed at driving organizational performance and delivering long-term improvements across the business. Your involvement may range in capacity from lead accountability to consultant, depending on the project in question. Projects may include employer brand development, refinement of recruitment and onboarding processes, coordination of employee engagement and reward initiatives, and support with ad hoc projects such as data migration, HR Information System (HRIS) implementation and B-Corp accreditation.You will take a leading role in managing and maintaining internal communications on behalf of the global People and Organizational Development (POD) team.*Who you will be working with *You will collaborate with POD colleagues and leaders across the business to develop best practice, streamline processes and pool resources to deliver a 'One ITG' approach throughout our people practices.Key to the success of the HR Generalist is the relationships you create across the organization. From these collaborative relationships you will understand the wider priorities of the business functions and create solutions which achieve the best possible outcomes for both the business and our employees. Key partnerships include:* Local Branch Integrator (BI) - working in a matrix management structure with both the local BI andHead of POD, you will ensure that local HR accountabilities (recruiting, retaining and supporting the local team) are balanced with your contribution toward the global POD team* Global POD team - supporting one another to champion best practice across the organization, and contributing toward global POD projects* Leadership team - tackling problems, presenting solutions, and evolving our people practices* Local employee base - representing the POD function at local level*Level of budgetary responsibility*There are no budgetary responsibilities associated with this role, though the role holder will have access toPOD budget for expenses related to recruitment, onboarding, etc.*What you will be doing**Employee Relations ** Provide first line support on all aspects of employee relations; including conduct, absence management, performance management, grievances and disciplinaries, in line with policy, law and best practice.* Advise POD on the development and revision of employment policies; maintaining compliance with local laws and regulations and ensuring they reflect local best practice.* Promote a culture of working safely; challenging unsafe working practices and escalating concerns relating to health, safety and wellbeing accordingly.*Operational Support *Supporting a range of processes across the employee life cycle, including:* Employer brand and recruitment: developing a consistent approach to candidate attraction, shortlisting, interviewing, selection and pre-employment checks across the organization.* Onboarding and induction: overseeing the introduction of new employees to the business, drawing up an onboarding schedule and providing a first day HR induction.* Engagement: support employee voice initiatives and collaborate with employee resource groups(social committee, wellbeing committee, learning and development team) to ensure all feedback is factored into our broader people strategy.* Talent management: overseeing internal jobs board, building talent pools and succession plans to ensure the company can continue to operate in the future.* Performance management: supporting the delivery of performance management infrastructure such as job descriptions and competency frameworks to improve organizational effectiveness.* Reward: contributing to the development of reward strategy to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.* Recognition: managing internal appreciation platforms and ensure personal and professional milestones are recognized at organizational level.* Wellbeing: contribute to the development of wellbeing strategy, advising on policies and initiatives that seek to raise the wellbeing agenda.*Organizational Development ** Collaborate with the global POD team identify areas of improvement, incorporate companywide initiatives and integrate new POD policies and programs into the local office.* Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organization, e.g. management training program HR data shift, HRIS implementation & B-Corp certification.* Support and undertake any other reasonable requests made by the organization.*Outputs & Deliverables ** Design and delivery of external content such as employee handbook, job descriptions and presentations for online and offline channels.* Visibly documented processes and supporting guidance for all internal/external recruitment practices, including requisition, acquisition, assessment and selection.* Visibly documented processes and supporting guidance for onboarding practices, including personalized onboarding plan and HR introduction.* Clearly defined purpose and strategy and feedback loop for all employee voice initiatives, ensuring feedback is reported to the wider POD team.* Visibly documented process and supporting guidance for performance management practices, including job descriptions, PDPs, appraisals and other performance management tools.* Design and delivery of coordinated approach for recognizing personal and professional achievements at organisational level, incorporating Star of the Quarter, Perkbox and HRIS-assisted mechanisms.*Measurable Outcomes & KPIs *You will work with the Head of People and Organizational Development to create clear and objective metrics to evaluate your performance.*What you will need ** Exceptional organizational skills, together with proven leadership capabilities and solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application.* Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with proven experience in engaging with and securing the trust of senior leadership and stakeholders across the business.* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a critical eye for language choice to drive accuracy and clarity.* Highly developed communication skills, experienced in using questioning, listening and coaching skills to get to grips with complex issues and negotiate positive outcomes.* Confident with information technology, able to create engaging digital content as well as maintain internal communication channels (SharePoint, Teams etc.)* Ability to evidence objectivity and sensitivity when dealing with complex people matters to understand issues from different perspectives.*What we are looking for from you*You'll have previous experience of, and a genuine passion for, attracting, retaining, and developing great talent, as well as a HR generalist background. An in-depth knowledge of current employment law is important so you can bring best practice to the role. Ideally, you'll hold SHRM-PC or PHR certification and we'd love for you to be a trained Mental Health First Aider, or familiar with providing mental health support.
