The nation's leader in early education and care, Primrose School at the Flatirons is in search of a Kitchen Assistant who can help our Kitchen Manager prepare healthy, nutritious food for the children we serve and assist with the kitchen operations. This position is perfect for a college student, someone who is interested in nutrition and cooking, and/or someone who is curious about working with children.Advantages of joining the Primrose School at the Flatirons would be:An inclusive work environment where support and respect are given and receivedALL weekends and major holidays off (-10 per year)Clear expectations, training, and necessary resources providedThe ability to work independently while under the supervision of the Kitchen ManagerLearn to cook large-quantity meals from scratchSome Responsibilities of a Kitchen Assistant:Attention to detail for children that have noted allergies and/or food restrictionsEnsures that each meal is portioned appropriately and ready to be servedWashes all dishes from meal prep and maintains a clean kitchenCovers for Kitchen Manager when they are outAssists in other capacities that the Kitchen Manager determines is necessarySkill sets:PunctualReliableWorks well with othersCan take directionAbility to relate positively to young childrenPreferred Qualifications:ServSafe Certification preferred, but not requiredAdequate or strong knife skillsPrevious experience in quantity food preparationMust be able to lift up to 35lbs in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situationsSchedule and Salary:Pay scale is $15.00-$17.00 depending on qualifications and experienceSchedule is M-F from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. Full time and increased wages may also be available for the right candidate, which will include assisting in our classrooms.MLBC2023
