About the Role: This position is located on site in our Longmont,
CO Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in
supporting pharmacists to ensure the accurate and efficient
dispensing of medications in both hospital and retail pharmacy
settings. This position involves managing prescription orders,
preparing and labeling medications, and maintaining sterile
environments to guarantee patient safety. The Pharmacy Technician
acts as a liaison between patients, pharmacists, and healthcare
providers, facilitating clear communication and timely service.
Attention to detail and reliability are essential to prevent errors
and uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice. Ultimately,
this role contributes significantly to the overall healthcare
delivery system by ensuring that patients receive the correct
medications promptly and safely. Responsibilities: Coordinate and
schedule the preparation of sterile admixture orders with guidance
from the Pharmacist. Perform all product preparation calculations
and obtain Pharmacist validation prior to compounding or mixing.
Compound sterile and non-sterile admixtures using aseptic
technique, in accordance with state regulations. Prepare labels,
prescriptions, and compounding worksheets; maintain accurate
records of lot numbers, expiration dates, and batch documentation.
Generate delivery and pick-up slips under Pharmacist supervision.
Pick and pull required supplies for compounding. Ensure cleanroom
and related equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained per
company policies and procedures. Collect supply inventories from
patients/clients and communicate findings to the Pharmacist as
needed. Participate in branch management meetings, departmental
discussions, and quality improvement initiatives. Comply with all
accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, including
OSHA, FDA, and state/federal guidelines relevant to infusion
pharmacy Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minium of 1-year compounding experience Certification as a Pharmacy
Technician (CPhT) from an accredited program or equivalent
experience. Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication
safety standards. Ability to operate fax machines and pharmacy
software systems. Demonstrated reliability and strong attention to
detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in hospital
and/or retail pharmacy settings. Familiarity with sterilization
techniques and maintaining sterile environments. Additional
certifications or training related to pharmacy technology or
healthcare. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on respectful
communication. Experience with order entry systems and inventory
management software. Skills: Accurately process orders and ensure
medications are prepared and dispensed correctly. Proficient in
using fax machines to facilitate timely communication with
healthcare providers. Maintain sterility and adhere to safety
standards to prevent contamination, especially in hospital pharmacy
settings. Demonstrate consistent performance and strict adherence
to protocols for patient safety and operational efficiency. Foster
