The Lead Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the
most highly complex and significant vendor agreements and
relationships across multiple commodities. Provide subject matter
expertise in vendor management and category analysis in support of
Centurylink's acquisition of goods and services for Construction
and Real Estate including Indirect Services for CTL Facilities.
Provides thought leadership that is reconized across the company.
Continually identifies and implements new opprtunities for cost
savings, cost avoidance and proactivly tracks progress towards
these objectives. Idependently prepares and presents advanced
business cases, return on inventment models and change management
programs to stakeholders and senior management. Apply advanced
supply chain / sourcing principles, theories and concepts.
Collaborate with functional business unit owners to develop
procurement & sourcing strategies which meet the needs of the
business and result in optimal economic benefit for CenturyLink.
Creatively work with internal customers to challenge and pursue
Prepares scope documents, communication plans contract awards. Lead
cross functional teams to develop and execute negotiation
strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and
quality for the most complex vendor relationships.
Lead all phases of RFX initiatives and/ or contract negotiations
for complex, multi-million dollar projects.
Negotiate and interpret contract provisions, communicating
potential contract, supply chain, and/or economic risks to impacted
parties. Determine and communicate implications of solutions and
decisions on customer, supplier and company goals.
Provide subject matter expertise in the resolution of complex
problems that cross a range of topics and processes. Ensure issues
and constraints are properly addressed and resolved.
Manage contract activity and supplier performance issues for
Develop supplier performance evaluation criteria and lead supplier
performance management discussions.
Prepare and execute on an Annual Operating Plan that outlines
current year sourcing activity and expected savings results for
Create and deliver Executive presentations in support of key
initiatives and business decisions.
Ensure adherence to corporate policies and processes.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant
- Minimum 10 plus years of related experience or 5 plus with a
- Demonstrated communication and project management skills
working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing supplier relationships for an assigned set
of products and/or services including regular supplier performance
reviews and discussions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
self-motivated; strong analytical and problem solving skills;
ability to process large amounts of often complex data; detail
- Intermediate to advanced professional experience in the
sourcing and/or contracting (negotiations, drafting and
administration) in Construction Services, equipment, professional
services and/or other relevant experience.
- Strong to expert knowledge of procurement systems such as SAP,
Ariba or Oracle.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, intermediate to advanced
- Subject matter expert in one of more Sourcing area and broad
knowledge in several areas.
- Master's degree or J.D.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high visibility environment
with frequently shifting priorities.
