Senior Manager--Research & Innovation Business Process, Governance, Portfolio, & Systems ManagementThe Sr Manager Portfolio, Business Process and Governance is responsible to manage, maintain and report on the NORAM R&I projects portfolio, ensuring effective and efficient processes are in place to keep track of key innovation pipelines, provide clear analysis of how the portfolio stacks up towards the business' strategic goals, and ensuring the proper product development systems to support Danone's innovation workflows. To ensure portfolio wide optimization, and to safeguard quality of execution, you will be in charge of setting up robust business processes and implement agile cross functional governance mechanisms to manage quality decision making and drive improved time to market of new innovation products. You will work in close collaboration with many different functional stakeholders (Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Quality, Strategy) across both the NORAM and global Danone organization to make sure aligned portfolio, data and systems governance is put in place and managed consistently across the teams.To be effective in this role, Sr Manager Portfolio, Business Process and Governance needs to maintain an intra-company network and manage relationships with Global R&I teams to facilitate collaboration and continuous knowledge flow of best practices in Danone development processes (Goose-new product development stage gate), portfolio tools (Udrive / Usmart/iProView) and product life management/specification management systems (Artemis/Hermes/Cybele) is happening between the teams. As many innovations are developed in collaboration with Danone Research centers across the globe, keeping to one aligned way of working is critical in achieving innovation success at both a company level as for the North American team.To secure adequate funding for the company's key initiatives is available, the Sr Manager Portfolio, Business Process & Governance is in charge of the annual R&I budget and manages the necessary spend allocations in alignment with Finance and the R&I leadership team. Setting priorities and managing portfolio tradeoffs is core to the role and fundamental in achieving optimal outputs for the NORAM R&I and business teams. Last, but not least, you will facilitate the NORAM R&I governance model and act as a "chief of staff" to the R&I Leadership team, ensuring the right topics are on the team's meeting calendar and help the team keep on track by creating and maintaining activity and prioritization dashboards.The Sr Manager Portfolio, Business Process and Governance role leads the R&I Business Process, Specs and Governance team and reports into the R&I VP Beverage Creations. In your role you will manage both the R&I Portfolio & Activity team (1 FTE) and the R&I Specifications & Systems team (4 FTE)Main Responsibilities:

• Act as owner of local NORAM R&I Innovation, reporting and governance processes
• Facilitate collaboration with Danone Central team on global ways of working/processes, governance reporting & system development topics
• Provide periodic and ad-hoc portfolio analysis to animate innovation performance, drive resourcing and prioritization decision making with R&I and business leadership teams
• Maintain Portfolio Data management systems and system governance to ensure timely, complete and accurate reporting of innovation portfolio (ie pipeline slides, key financials) data is available
• Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the effective and efficient operation of our core specification and data systems and related ways of working
• Collaborate with Global teams to ensure technology roadmaps are maintained in alignment with R&I innovation strategies and in sync with the NORAM business priorities
• Partner with cross-functional teams (ie Quality, PMO, Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure correct and consistent application of GOOSE process across NORAM teams is maintained
• Control NORAM R&I budget and facilitate Leadership Team decision making on strategic fundingThe base compensation range for this position is $98,000-146,000commensurate with experience.   • Bachelor or master's degree in a relevant field of study such as Business Administration, Economics or Food Science.
  • You bring 5-10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a NPD / Innovation / Strategic management role.
  • You are a self-starter, pragmatic problem solver and can work under minimal supervision.
  • You enjoy challenging the status quo and are comfortable working in a dynamic, ambiguous, and fast changing environment.
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills and can successfully manage teams in both hierarchical as well as lateral structures.
  • You have attention to detail and your organization, time- and data management skills are unquestionable
