- The Director of Pricing and Specials Projects has ownership of analysis, insights and strategy for key pricing decisions including lift ticket and season pass products. This role will also own the Analytics of Special growth projects. This includes, but is not limited to Network impact analysis from potential Acquisitions. The position is part of the corporate Marketing team. The ideal candidate has 5-7+ years of proven track record as -high potential talent -demonstrating drive, ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence. Job Responsibilities: -

  • Drive lift ticket and season pass revenue growth through pricing/product strategies and initiatives
  • Set the vision and provide strategic direction for the Pricing team
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics, Market Insights, Finance, Season Pass, Resort Marketing and other stakeholders to develop and conduct appropriate analyses, adding rigor to existing methodologies and developing key metrics to enable pricing optimization. Leverage market research and guest data to create a more complete picture of pricing dynamics and support the development of pricing strategies.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership, Marketing, Finance and Operations teams on product development, new product pricing, product price positioning, go to market plans and operational execution/fulfillment. This includes frequent interactions with resort General Managers and strategic conversations with the CMO and CEO.
  • Inform key stakeholders of pricing dynamics and key performance indicators throughout the ski season
  • Become the subject matter expert and thought leader on all elements of lift ticket and season pass pricing as well as other lines of business pricing
  • Align Pricing activities with marketing strategic objectives. Partner closely with other Marketing teams to drive insights and optimization of marketing investments.
  • Identify ongoing needs of the organization to support the pricing vision and provide justification and implementation roadmap to address these needs. This encompasses both capital and operating expenses and includes technology solutions, talent needs, contract resources and partnership opportunities.
  • Design guidelines for goals, setup and evaluation of pricing experimentation. Ensure appropriate analytical support is in place to evaluate success of these tests and incorporate learning into long term strategies and tactics.
  • Strong learning agility. Enjoys and excels in environments where he/she must tackle and solve new and increasingly complex strategic business challenges and issues-incorporating the newest ideas, technologies, and approaches to business.
  • A brave, ambitious, and passionate leader who is comfortable in their own skin while also demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness. Job Requirements:
    • Graduate degree in Business or Masters in Finance, Analytics, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics preferred
    • A proven track record of 5-7+ years leading teams and developing pricing strategy
    • Experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, financial analysis, dynamic pricing, demand modeling, and customer/product segmentation
    • Experience solving complex and large-scale analytical problems
    • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience. Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including experience communicating with and providing decision support to senior management.
    • Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills are essential. Must be able to lead a large team, think strategically, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Highly collaborative approach and open communication style; ability to develop strong relationships with business partners
    • Desire to and ability to work independently and execute effectively with autonomy
    • High degree of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and database query tools
    • High level of comfort with technology
    • Ability to adapt to and excel in a fast-paced environment The budgeted range starts at $125,500 - $156,900 + annual bonus + equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
