Northrop Grumman’s Mission Exploitation Operating Unit (MEX OU),
part of Advanced Capabilities Business Unit (AC BU) within the
Multi-Domain Operations Division (MDOD) in Northrop Grumman Space
Systems Sector, is seeking a Sr Principal Project Manager. The Sr
Principal Project Manager owns the responsibility for working with
the MEX OU Director to execute and deliver on program and customer
stakeholder commitments across the OU portfolio of programs in
orchestration with each Program Management Office (PMO). This role
has the authority to make project management decisions and
recommendations that have an impact on new and current business,
program performance, design, development, and mission operations.
This position is based out of Aurora, Colorado and reports directly
to the MEX OU Director. This position is 100% Onsite In this
position, the selected candidate will be responsible for the
following to enable high performing programs and execution: Provide
support directly to the OU director and build relationships with
program managers and functional staff to enable success in
achieving portfolio goals / objectives Oversee status and timely
reporting for the OU (daily/weekly/monthly reviews, metrics) and
provide oversight of the MEX OU collaboration and communication
data shares Review programs performance against plans – identify
gaps and resources needed to assist programs in successful
execution (e.g. facilities, resources, operations, etc.) Support
program proposals and new program start-up(s) Support strategic
planning development (Long Range Strategic Plan & Annual Operating
Plan) and current year OU performance reviews (EACs, PMRs, AOP and
Operational Reviews) Lead and support OU program move activities to
include planning and orchestration of major program transitions
from one facility to another. Ensure execution quality,
performance, cost, schedule, and risk and opportunity management
across programs, in alignment with organizational processes,
program policies, and industry best standards Ensure IPTs identify
and coordinate both the staffing and resources needed to meet
program objectives, including engineering design units (EDUs),
simulators, emulators, and ground support equipment (GSE), with
Functional Management to complete product team deliverables Support
Basis of Estimates (BOEs)and schedule development across the
portfolio for program and new business, and support formal program
reviews, including Proposal Signoffs, Program Start Up Reviews and
Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs). Basic Qualifications: Must have
active DoD Top Secret clearance at time of application. Bachelor’s
degree in a technical, business or related field and a minimum of 8
years of experience, or Master’s Degree and 6 years of experience.
In lieu of a degree, 12 years of applicable experience will be
considered. Minimum of 8-years relevant experience with 2 years of
experience in Project Management roles such as Program Manager,
Cost Account Manager (CAM), or Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead
Risk & Opportunity Management experience and change control
experience Experience with multiple phases of the organizational or
program lifecycle of development, build, and operations Excellent
written and verbal communication skills, including presentation
experience and the ability to work seamlessly with a diverse
community of engineers and managers to achieve the goals of the
team Preferred Qualifications: 8 years of experience in Project
Management roles such as Program Manager, CAM, or IPT Lead Project
Management Professional (PMP) certification Experience with the
full lifecycle of spacecraft or ground development, build, and
operations Active TS/SCI or Active TS clearance with existing
program accesses The ability to manage communications with
stakeholders through organized processes to ensure that department
and program information is defined, collected, shared, understood,
stored and retrieved in a manner that effectively meets stakeholder
needs. The ability to identify and proactively address
organizational and program impacts through a systematic, proactive
approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies,
communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all
levels of the organization. The ability to identify, orchestrate,
coordinate and control the management activities and processes that
integrate program interdependencies throughout their life cycle to
achieve successful program completion. The ability to identify,
select, direct and manage subcontract and supply chain elements of
the program in a manner that supports program goals and company
strategy. Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00 The
above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
