Engineer is a core member of the team. They must collaborate
cross-functionally in the development of effective solutions for
their implementation and validation. They should promote functional
safety concepts to the entire team. They will support and perform
various risk assessments and safety analyses at the system,
hardware and software level. This person will implement effective
technical solutions that achieve appropriate robustness at the
system architectural level. The Safety Engineer is eager to take a
project from start to finish and thrives in ambiguity to develop
clarity. Responsibilities
- Definition of detailed safety requirements, including
diagnostic and software requirements, for systems replicable at
scale
- Collaborative design of safety systems that satisfy compliance
and regulatory requirements
- Development of functional safety architecture and dissemination
of safety requirements to the system, subsystem and component
levels
- Performance of safety analyses during all project phases
including risk assessments, failure modes, and both qualitative and
quantitative fault tree analysis
- Application of any regulatory compliance standards (with
particular focus on CE Certification) to products
- Independent investigation of improvement opportunities in the
safety design and validation processes
- Maintenance of regulatory compliance documentation that ensures
accurate and current adherence
- Collaboration with certification bodies for approval
- In office position in Northern DenverRequirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical/mechatronics
engineering or a related technical field
- Solid knowledge and hands-on experience on main ISO/ANSI
standards, including ISO 13849, ISO 10218-2, ISO 3691-4, ANSI/PMMI
155, ANSI B11.0, RIA R15.06, etc.
- System, software and safety engineering theoretical knowledge,
development, and testing experience
- At least 5-7 years relevant work experience in product
development (design and validation) and/or regulatory
compliance
- Hands-on working knowledge of integrating new systems into new
and existing equipment
- Experience reviewing machinery for proper guarding, interlocks,
and safety features
- Experience in equipment safety change management systems with
integrations to engineering and procurement/supply chain
- Strong technical problem-solving ability, excellent project
management skills and keen time management skills
- US/Canada safety standards and certification process knowledge
or field experience (e.g. NTRL)
- CMSE/CFSE certification (preferred)
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the timeNice to Have's
- Knowledge of vehicle embedded systems and functions such as
torque demand, motor control, warnings/alerts, or similar
- Deep knowledge of automotive systems and hardware/software
development process and the V-Model system development,
verification and validation framework
- Experience developing and delivering embedded system hardware
and/or softwareThe pay for this position has a salary range of
$125,000-$150,000. The actual salary offer will carefully consider
a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications,
experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for
additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and
