Are you ready to grow with us?The RoleWe are seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer for the Test Automation team. They should have experience in developing test automation in code-focused frameworks. Experience with Python, C/C++, and/or C# are preferred. In this position you will be an integral part of the product development team, who is responsible for releasing numerous cutting edge Web Security applications and services. You will get the opportunity to work with our team of talented engineers to facilitate development and testing of the next generation of our End-Pont protection applications.Specific Objectives and Responsibilities Your First Six Months:Acquire end-to-end knowledge about Webroot's End Point protection applicationWork with other engineers within the team to understand our SDLC - how teams work and collaborate to contribute to the release efforts in the most efficient wayGain solid understanding of our CI/CD and virtual automation lab platformsGain understanding of the existing test automation frameworks and technologies the team uses. These include tools implemented in C/C++, C#, and Python, with the Python framework being our largest and primary focusSix to Twelve Months and Beyond:Play an important role in the success of the team by efficiently developing automated test scripts for the assigned project, maintaining and extending existing tools, and developing new toolsWork with other team members to develop a game plan that ensures the team's success, and contribute to improving processes to shorten the test cycleShare knowledge and experience through code reviews, technical discussion, demos, and mentoring, to help all members of the team grow and improveWork with the team to get tests for new products automated, and to support testing efforts required for the new releasesWork with the team to improve reporting to be uniform across test frameworks and provide clear, meaningful results to stakeholdersContinue acquiring new skills that will be required to support the testing efforts for new product that the team will be deliveringSuccess Factors What will make you successful on our team:A track record of good judgment and decision-making in positions with significant responsibility Highly autonomous and able to independently identify high value projects and drive them to completionIndependent problem-solving for larger problems and not only using, but adding to frameworks with an eye toward long-term versatility and maintainabilityDemonstrated leadership capability in cross-functional team environmentsHigh degree of comfort with complex technical environmentsHaving and being able to articulate/defend an informed opinion on important topicsSkills & Experience:Strong analytic skills, good problem solving and solid understanding in common testing techniques to verify application performance and reliabilityAble to communicate complex data and results to audiences with wide ranges of technical backgroundExperience configuring CI/CD systems such as GitLab or JenkinsExperience with VM platforms such as VMWare vRealize, Amazon EC2, and AzureExperience with system setup tools such as Packer, Ansible, and TerraformComfortable with shell scripting on Windows and Linux platforms Experience in developing test automation or other coding using Python or similar languagesExperience creating automated tests for Windows Desktop GUI applicationsExperience in installing and administering Windows Operating systemSolid understanding in automation framework and performance test approaches/methodsSolid understanding of the full software development life cycleVery adaptive to fast changing environment, willing and able to acquire new skills as requiredFlexible, open mind, willing to take on challenges, and taking initiativeSolid understanding of networking protocols, and ability to troubleshoot issues between the client and server components of the application.Carbonite, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer does not discriminate based upon race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, genetic information, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
