About the Job:
We are currently looking to hire a Senior Cost Accountant! This position is responsible for operations accounting related activities with the primary objective of producing timely, accurate, reliable and relevant financial information effectively and efficiently.
The role can be hybrid to be based in Broomfield, CO.
Onsite at least 3 days a week.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Conduct month-end close functions including, but not limited to, preparing and entering journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, overseeing month-end inventories and inventory reserves and variance analysis.
Develop reports and provide analysis on part cost variances, manufacturing process costs, actual inventory activity vs. plan, surplus and obsolescence reserve, inventory valuation, WIP aging, cycle count results, Cost-of-Poor Quality, and other cost accounting and inventory control areas as assigned.
Provide cost accounting guidance and support to manufacturing, production planning, brand finance, purchasing and other departments.
Manage the preparation and analysis of actual and estimated costed BOM's.
Manage the annual standard setting process.
This includes working with procurement to set Material, Ingredients and Packaging Standards (MIP), working with the manufacturing facilities to set annual conversion cost standards, determining financial impact of the standards roll and managing the year-end cost roll process.
This Position falls under Danone's strategic portfolio review, which includes the potential sale of the Horizon Organic and Wallaby brands.

The base compensation range for this position is $72,000-$109,000 commensurate with experience.
There is also an exciting Success Bonus opportunity related to this role.
About you Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
Operations accounting experience required
Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP, standard cost, inventory cost accounting, accrual basis of accounting, cost volume profit analysis Strong computer skills (Excel, Powerpoint, BI tools, SAP/ERP, etc.) Excellent analytical and communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to work well in a team environment while focusing on individual tasks and priorities Innovative problem-solving skills, flexible mind-set, detail oriented, highly organized and able to work independently Ability to identify issues/control weaknesses and develop and implement recommendations for resolution
NON ESSENTIAL:
Food industry experience preferred
CPA/MBA Preferred
