The Role
Acts as the primary lead for managing, reviewing and executing vendor agreements into a most desirable purchase contract for the company.
The Main Responsibilities

  • Travel to Lumen collocation facilities and conduct a comprehensive review of all services in place for the purpose of defining inventory and matching expense to revenue.

  • Achieves savings against space, power and cross connects through term management, dispute identification and negotiation of embedded base of inventory.

  • Manages vendor's performance of service expectations and commitments in the agreement. Works with internal teams to identify areas of improvement, develops and implements the right solution with the vendor.

  • Communicates vendor capabilities to internal customers and manages vendor performance against those requirements.

  • Forecasts and manages expenditures related to 3rd party collocation space and power, and tracks impact to network expense and operating expense budgets. Communicates with, and coordinates delivery of, space and power to ensure optimal purchasing with other functional groups.

  • Manages spend with key vendors and monitors company's performance against buying plans and revenue commitments. Takes action to correct if spend is not in accordance with requirements.

  • Supports augmentations to existing 3rd party collocation sites by securing and processing required orders/amendments while providing estimated costs of various components on projects related to building additions or network expansion/integration projects.

    • Strong ability to develop business relationships and business plans with each carrier that maximize buying potential for the company;

    • Must possess a high aptitude for problem solving, be able to assess problems, research alternatives and pursue acceptable solutions while remaining within company guidelines;

    • Proven to be innovative and able to reset priorities and effectively manage resources to meet Company objectives;

    • Advance ability to effectively present and communicate ideas, solutions, etc. to others

    • Strong experience in contract negotiation and management is required;

    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office is essential;

    • Experience in 3rd Party Collocation is preferred;

    • Experience in business management, financial management or the legal field is preferred;

    • Must be a strong multi-tasker and have experience coordinating across departments;

    • Must have good visual acuity;

    • Candidate must be willing to travel to conduct specific city based audit projects;

    • Must be able to travel occasionally by airplane, automobile or other public modes of transportation.

    • Must be able to work in a general office environment and be able to operate a computer and associated peripherals;

    • Must be able to operate a telephone and communicate effectively with same.

      Basic Qualifications

      • Education Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or 2 plus years of relevant job experience. Relevant job experience is described as:

      • Job experience in similar industry

      • Job experience with similar essential duties Physical Requirements:

      • Field - Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 25 lbs.; Valid driver's license required; works in all weather conditions

        Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

        • Experience: 5+ yrs

        • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

        • Field Of Study: Contract Management, Telecommunications, Finance, or related field

        • A combination of education and experience is acceptable: Yes

        • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.

        • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
